Most hydrogen bottles cut corners on the membrane and electrodes. We don't. The ATOM uses a true DuPont PEM membrane that separates ozone from H2 — stacked above platinum-coated titanium plates that won't degrade or leach metals into your water.

    Power on. Battery activates.

    Press the button. The lithium-ion cell delivers a controlled 5V current to the platinum-coated titanium plates at the base of the bottle. The cycle begins.

    Water meets the plates.

    Water molecules in contact with the cathode and anode plates are split. At the cathode (negative), water gains electrons and forms hydrogen gas. At the anode (positive), water loses electrons and forms oxygen and trace ozone.

    PEM membrane separates the streams.

    The DuPont Proton Exchange Membrane sits between the chambers. It selectively allows hydrogen ions (protons) through while blocking oxygen and ozone. This is exactly what cheap hydrogen bottles skip — and why their water tastes like a swimming pool.

    Hydrogen dissolves into your water.

    Pure molecular hydrogen gas (H₂) bubbles up through the water and dissolves into solution. Up to 5.0 ppm in the ATOM model — a therapeutic concentration consistent with the dosage used in published H2 research.

    Drink within 20 minutes.

    Hydrogen is volatile — it escapes the water within ~20 minutes of brewing. Drink within that window for full bioavailability. The body absorbs H₂ within seconds via the mucous membranes and stomach lining.

What is a PEM membrane and why does it matter?

PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) is a medical-grade polymer that selectively allows hydrogen ions through while blocking oxygen and ozone. Same technology as fuel cells and medical hydrogen generators. Cheap bottles use SPE without a true PEM — ozone and chlorine byproducts end up in your water. We use DuPont PEM, the gold standard.

Why platinum-coated titanium plates?

Titanium is corrosion-resistant and won't react with water or your body. Platinum coating provides the catalytic surface needed for efficient water splitting without degrading. Cheaper steel electrodes corrode within months and leach metal ions into your drinking water. Ours don't.

How is the hydrogen ppm independently tested?

Methylene blue redox titration combined with dissolved-hydrogen meters. Every model is sampled across production runs. Output ranges from up to 2.0 ppm (Tritan Sport) and up to 3.0 ppm (Pro and Tumbler) to up to 5.0 ppm (ATOM) depending on the model and cycle length.

How long does the membrane last?

Daily use: 18–24 months. Heavy use (5+ cycles/day): 12–18 months. Replacement membranes are available, so a single bottle can last years — not months like cheap competitors.

Is the bottle dishwasher safe?

The borosilicate glass body is dishwasher-tough, but the base contains electronics — so we recommend hand-washing. The self-cleaning cycle handles the membrane chamber automatically. The Tritan Sport is fully top-rack dishwasher safe.

Why is ozone-free output important?

Ozone (O₃) is a byproduct of basic electrolysis without a separating membrane. Trace ozone is fine, but drinking ozonated water regularly can irritate the digestive tract and degrade plastic components. A true PEM membrane separates ozone from H₂ so only pure hydrogen reaches your water.
