How do the bottles work?
All our hydrogen-producing water products use a Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) paired with Solid Polymer Electrolyte (SPE) electrolysis to split H2O and produce pure molecular hydrogen at medium-to-high concentrations.
Are they 3rd party certified?
Yes. ionBottles products are independently tested and certified by the Swiss Water Research Institute, a laboratory accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
This certification ensures accurate, reliable test results that verify the quality, performance, and safety of our hydrogen water bottles. The detailed lab report confirms the high purity and hydrogen concentration levels.
Are they made of glass?
Our Pro Model and pitcher are made from strong, food-grade BPA-free borosilicate glass.
Our latest models — the Tritan Sport™ and ATOM™ — are made from Tritan, which is strong like plastic but pure and toxin-free like glass.
Our pitcher model boasts a 64-ounce capacity and can warm water up to 109°F, enhancing the hydrogen infusion experience.
What's the difference between models?
Each ionBottles product is designed with unique capabilities, but all models specialize in producing pure molecular hydrogen gas. Our latest model — the ATOM™ — generates up to 5,000 PPB of hydrogen-rich water, double the concentration per ounce of our original.
Our pitcher model boasts a large 64-ounce capacity and can warm water up to 109°F.
How long does hydrogen last?
Molecular hydrogen retains its effectiveness for about 10–15 minutes once opened or vented. If sealed — especially in the airtight ATOM — hydrogen can stay elevated for up to 13 hours.
For more H2-rich water, simply press the power button to activate another cycle.
Can I pour the water into another glass?
Yes — you can transfer your freshly hydrogenated water into glass or stainless steel. Even sealed, the hydrogen gas remains testable for about 12 hours.
My bottle arrived wet!
When you first receive your bottle, there's a cap covering the titanium plates with a small amount of clean distilled water (100% normal). This keeps the membrane hydrated during shipping. Just remove the glass and unscrew the cap. Wash the bottle before use.
Note: water may leak from the cap into the bottle during transit, making the inside look wet — your bottle is NOT used. Some water inside is normal. Wash and enjoy.
What happens to the oxygen?
Our infusion process expels remaining oxygen so only pure molecular hydrogen saturates your water. In the ATOM, Pro Model, and Tritan Sport, oxygen is expelled through a dedicated vent port. In the original model and pitcher, gases release through the lid.
How do I clean my bottle?
Clean gently with mild soap and warm water. In hard-water areas, descale occasionally.
To descale, pour 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar over the titanium plates so they're fully covered. Let it sit up to 12 hours, then rinse well. Once a month is best.
Don't submerge the base, put it in the dishwasher, or use a wire metal brush.
Is it safe during pregnancy?
Yes.
There have been zero reports of drinking hydrogen-rich water during pregnancy being unsafe.
As always, consult your healthcare provider before changing your diet during pregnancy.
What type of water should I use?
Our PEM technology works with regular tap water, filtered, reverse osmosis, natural spring, purified, and well water. Note: low-mineral waters may produce a less pronounced visual reaction.
Mine stopped making bubbles.
If your bottle or pitcher stops producing hydrogen bubbles, fill it with warm water and let the membrane at the base soak for 1–3 hours, running multiple cycles in that time. This re-primes the proton exchange membrane.
Can I use hot water?
Use room-temperature, cold, or iced water. Do not pour boiling water into your bottle or pitcher — it can damage the PEM and may void the warranty.
How many uses per battery?
Cycles per charge vary by model, typically 10–20. Battery fully recharges in 6–9 hours. Use the included USB cable for optimal charging.
Are there filters or replacement parts?
Nope.
That's a key benefit over single-use competitors. Our bottles are reusable, rechargeable, and never stop creating hydrogen water for years.
How much H2 water per day?
Per the research, patients and athletes who consumed 4–5 bottles per day (about 60 ounces) achieved optimal results, noticeable in 4–6 weeks.
Does the water taste different?
Customers consistently report that water tastes better after running through their ionizing bottle or pitcher.
Why is there water leaking under my bottle?
During the hydrogen cycle, it's normal to occasionally see a small amount of water beneath your bottle. Pressure inside pushes out traces of water. Our dual-chamber technology actively expels oxygen, chlorine, ozone, and other oxide gases through a vent at the base — ensuring purity but causing minimal weeping.

How long are shipping times?
Please allow our team 1–2 business days to process your order, package it, and hand it to our shipping carrier. We do not process or ship orders over the weekend.

How do I file a warranty claim?
To file a claim, please email us with your name and order number. Include a description of the warranty issue and a photo or video.
Warranty replacements are typically approved within 4–7 days and shipped out within 2 weeks. Shipping for warranty replacements is paid by the customer.

Can I wash the ionBottles sleeve?
We'd recommend simply spot cleaning or wiping the sleeve clean.
What bottles will the sleeve fit?
The protection sleeve fits around our Original and Pro Model hydrogen water bottles.
Note: the sleeve doesn't have cut-out holes for the button — by design. You can still press each of the buttons on the bottles when they're covered with a protective sleeve.
The sleeve will need to be removed to plug in the USB charger and recharge the battery.
